Here is a suggestion I got from Nathan DeHoff (VoVat) from twitter. This is a picture of Snif the Iffin from "Jack Pumpkinhead of Oz". I tried to keep him the same look as Neill's,but I also wanted to do him like the way Thompson described him. So I gave him a more lion like body and dragon like claws.

That is cute!
I always wonder why Neill drew Snif with a barbed tail, but he actually did the same for Mombi in griffin form. I think I would have preferred him with a lion's tail.
Anyway, great picture!
Makes me think this is how Dick Martin would have drawn Snif.
