Dorothy heads model sheet

As an artist, I like to make model sheets of characters to see different views of how they might look. This is one I did for Dorothy Gale.

If Reilly & Lee still published the Oz books, and if Eric Shanower didn't do it, I'd think you'd be the next Royal Illustrator.

Wow Marcus, thank you. That made my day.

See, Shanower's art is amazing. He's got the skill and training from the Kubert School to back it up, and a great affection for the Oz books. But what I think Baum and Thompson would have preferred is the fun and whimsy in your art... moreso than the refinement of Eric's.

Your art is not only good, it's FUN.

I've been looking at your Oz work. I love it. I prefer Dorp Dorothy with pigtails, but this is really great.
