Hoping you have a very Ozzy Christmas. Bonus points if you could name the girl Ozma is giving the gift to.

Styles
As an artist I think I'm pretty adaptable. Maybe not as good as some, but I can change my style easily if I want to. Here are some pictures of Ozma in different styles I use.
- This is what I would call my natural drawing style.
- When I started illustrating Oz, this is the style I used.
- This is the style I have been using for Illustrator's Guide to Oz.
- This is what I call my comic-book style.

Preview part two "The Illustrator's Guide to Oz": Houses of Oz
Here is another look at my illustrator's guide book. I'm not just going to do character designs. I would like to do things like houses, buildings, clothing, etc.

Preview of "The Illustrator's Guide to Oz"
I have been considering a book on character designs for artists who want to work on Oz books. I want to be able to as many characters as I can. I always thought it would be interesting to have one book that I could reference for a characters look without having to pull out different books all the time (to be honest, I haven't needed to do that in a long time, but I know that some artists might still have too.).

Mari Ness finds this hilarious
The latest issue of the Baum Bugle came out and there is a review for "Bucketheads in Oz" done by Mari Ness. Here is what she says about me:
"A quick note on the illustrations: S. P. Maldonado has chosen a decidedly
cartoonish feel here, which works remarkably well for some scenes and
characters - a bit where a farmer chases a college student is hilarious, and I
loved His Honor Cornelius Ulyssicus Later, a distinguished alligator - but
perhaps less well for other characters, particularly better known ones."

Dick Martin
If there is one Oz artist I feel closest to in style, it would be Dick Martin. When Hungry Tiger Press did a blog that featured a poster Dick did, I decided to play around with it and practice with Illustrator.

The Laughing Dragon of Oz
The Laughing Dragon of Oz was a book written by L. Frank Baum's son Frank Joslyn Baum. With this book came some controversy. Frank J. felt that his was the natural successor to the Oz books. He tried to get "Oz" trademarked in his name and get Reilly & Lee to stop publishing the Oz books. It was his mother, who made the deal with the publishers, who had to sue him for the trademark. When The Laughing Dragon was published by Witman, Reilly & Lee sued them and the book quickly went out of print.

Ozma Comic Book Style
I consider my style as being more cartoony than comic book. Here is my attempt at doing a comic book style.
